Exhibition on 6th March
Last Friday, March 6th, our group members went to the tool machine exhibition which locates in Taipei world trade center NanGang exhibition hall together. There were too many students so that not all of us took professor Wang’s van. Jerry, Vic, and I took the mass rapid transportation, or MRT, at the technology building station on the brown line, and transferred the train to blue line, NanGang station. At the beginning, I thought the people who took van would get there early, so I gave them the permission. Nevertheless, Jerry, Vic and I arrived first, we could not enter the exhibition. After few minutes, they arrived finally. And we all took the photo in front of the exhibition gate. There were around twelve people going to the tool machine exhibition. The show venues are very large which locates four regions: NanGang exhibition hall, Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Hall 1, Hall 2, and Hall 3. Each show venue has its main theme such as CAD-CAM software, quality control/inspection & measurement equipment, automation & control, machine tool components, tube & wire processing equipment, and industrial robot are in TWTC exhibition hall 1. What surprised me is that the precise cutting and ergonomic design. And most of these machines are controlled by computer which is computer numerical control (CNC) products. We saw a lot of companies displaying good machines; meanwhile Jerry and Iris kept taking photos of themselves. There are plenty of foreigners in exhibition. Iris saw two foreigners who were staring up and down at her. And Iris stared back. It seemed they were flirting. A while later, one of these two foreigners came to us and started to talk to us. Foreigners are always active. We had a short conversation and then continued to watch. At that time, Alex and I went downstairs to watch another machine show. There, we saw many show girls and hosts, which made the exhibition much more interesting. During lunch time, we found the food there is so expensive that we decided to go to Shi-da night market. However, Alex and Ricardo had bought mosburger. Then, Ricardo still stayed in NanGang exhibition hall, we went to Shi-da to have lunch. Jerry, Vic and I took free shuttle bus to TWTC Hall 1. And then we transferred to the No. 1 bus to the intersection of Roosevelt road and Shi-da road station. It took us about an hour to get there. With Javier’s recommendation, we ate in the restaurant which is foreigners’ favorite. Actually, the meal I ordered was not as delicious as others’. Suddenly, I found the man looked familiar, and then I recalled he is Jack from England. Last time, I sang with him and his wife, Catherine. After he left, he came here to greet us, and exchanged the contact information. He said he wants someone to talk to Chinese so that his Chinese can improve. Practice makes perfect. So my English do. I ought to learn it from Jack.
